A Typical Day in Daycare

I try to follow a set schedule but most of the children under 2 will be encouraged to go off and explore the daycare

Most of the time they will follow what the "Big kids" are doing.

 

The Schedule  below is a typical day.

 

8am -8:30am--Arrival /Breakfast for those whom 

                                  Arrive before  8:30am

8:30am -9:00am --Free Play

9:00am -9:15am -- Circle Time- discussion on the daily 

                                 activities. Introduce a site word.

9:15am -9:30am --  Rhyme of the Week/finger Play

9:30am -10:00am -summer months= out door play

                                 winter months (-15 or colder)Arts & Craft

10:00am 10:10am -Clean up/ Potty Time/diaper change

10:15am 10:40am --Television program (Blues clues/Mickey Mouse)

10:40am 10:55am --Free Play

10:55am 11:20am -- Lunch

11:20am 11:45am -- Free Play

11:45am 11:55am -- Brush Our Teeth (potty if needed)

12:00am 2:00pm ---Nap Time (All children will take a 

                                   nap, if they do not sleep the must rest. 

                                   I will Put on the television                 

                                   (babar/Caillou) untill they fall a 

                                  sleep usually by 12:30pm

2:00pm 2:10pm  --  Clean up sleeping mats/pillow, blanket wash                                            up, get ready for snack

2:10pm -2:30pm  --  Afternoon Snack Time

2:30pm -2:40pm  --  Brush our Teeth

2:40pm -3:15pm  --   Number/Letter of the week/with Activities 

3:15pm -3:30pm  -    -Sing daily songs with actions. Head &                                                     shoulder’s, wheels on the bus. Etc....

3:30pm -4:30pm  --  Outside Play (Weather permitted- till 5pm)

4:30pm -5:00pm  -  -Story Time ( I will read the children a  story or                                        they will look at books themselves
